Wow, the OC references to the South African Wards are thin. I have Wines of the Southern Hemisphere by DeSimone and it is better. What other resources might you recommend? This site in general, by the way, is fantastic and I don’t know how you nabbed the domain name, but very nice! Thank you.
On the one hand, the information on offer as to South African Wards seems pretty thin, but given the date of the last edition of the OCW (2006 for my copy of the 3rd edition) it’s not unexpected. On the other, there haven’t been many especially demanding questions on the WSET Diploma Exam regarding South Africa.
But if you mean generally that more knowledge about South Africa should be required of Diploma Students, I couldn’t agree more. I was fortunate enough to visit a couple of times over the last few years but I don’t have a specific text on the are I can recommend. I’ll have to find a copy of the DeSimone book.
As to the domain name, I’m just trying to put to good use something I picked up in a foolish moment many, many years ago.
Best of luck with the exams. I had a quick look at your blog and I’m guessing you have the Unit 3 exam in your future. If so, I hope the links to the OCW are useful.
